RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES.
Tuesday. E. Cutts commenced training operations shortly after 5 a.m. by sending Montacute and Dalliance a mile and a quarter fast. The latter finished in front. Seasholl and Goldleaf cantered to the five furlong post and came home fast, the former having all the better of her companion. Marquis of Zetland defeated Bizarre over six furlongs, and Tutanekai and IJisley spurted, fivo furlongs, the former, us usual, running '• unkindly. Qniltiri, who has been on the sick list for a few days, moved sorely in a canter twice round, and Fabulist/ who is looking really well, cantered once round, and then, assisted first by Rustic and then by Salvo Shot, galloped a mile and a quarter fast. Saracen and Lady Zetland finished together in a gallop over a mile and a half, while Day'; Star and Armilla did steady work twice. round, brushing home over the last four furlong's. Bloomer spurted four furlongs on the'plough, and Acone and "Woodstock did steady work twice round. Bogengang and Sb John, separately galloped, *" the former five furlongs," and the latter seven furlongs ; and Belligerent, who appears very well after his trip to Hawke's Bay, cantered.. Magazine finished in front of Diploma over a mile. Nirvana and Taipari Avero together at the end of six furlongs. Skirmisher went twice round the plough the first steadily, and the second at half pace ; while Salvo Shot and Eangiatea each negotiated one round at half pace, and Clarence covered two rounds, the first at half and the second at strong three-quarter speed. After breakfast Weary defeated the Chain-' shot — Retina colt over four furlongs. Vpgengang and the Chainshot — Psyche filly galloped four furlongs fast, and'Rosymorn and Veuom six furlongs along the back. St Mellon and Lord Zetland spurted four furlongs fast, the former finishing in front. Marino went twice round with the sweaters on, and Artilleryman did steady work twice round.
