THE CZAR'S TOUR.

ARRIVAL AT CHERBOURG-. [Per Press Association. I PARIS, Oct. 6. The Czar has arrived at Cherbourg. It is estimated that . there are three million visitors in Paris. The meeting of the French and English squadrons in mid-channol was a superb spectacle, and thn splendid evolutions were much admired. The English warships fired a salute o£ twenty-one guns, and the Frencli one of one hundred guns. On arrival at Cherbourg, the Czar received a great ovation. President Faure, and the President** of both branches of the Legislature welcomed him, and he noticeably retained the hand of the former for sbine time. The Czar then made an inspection of the French fleet, and expressed; his admiration at ils completeness and apparent efficiency. ,j At a banquet President Faure, in proposing the health of the Royal guest, said that the Czar woiild find that the heart cf France beat at Paris. The Czar, in reply, said that he fully sliared in the sentiments of the friendly nation, and he was much touched by the sympathy and cordiality extended. In drinking the toast the Czar and President touched glasses, while the band played the " Marseillaise." Subsequently the Czar and party were escorted to Paris.
