Stout's motion to reduce the vote * of .£41,715 for roads and other works on goldfields and mineral lands by £6715 was was lost by 34 to 18, and the vota s passed. Sir R. Stout moved to reduce the vote for roads on goldfiolds, £82,257 by £12,257. v Lost by 35 to 17, and the vote passed. 3 Objection was taken to the vote of B £98,959 devoted for the purpose of developing tho goldfields of the colony, on £ tho ground that the amount was exg cessive. Sir R. Stout moved to reduce the vote fc by £48,950. . Lost by 30 to 22, and the vote passed. The remaining items on the estimates were passed without alteration. The House rose at 4.30 a.m.
