The offertories on thai day are devoted to diocesan charities, anc were, by direction of the Right Rev tlit Bishop, in aid of the Mount Magdals Asylum. The Very Rev Father Cummings V.G., preached at the 9.30 and 11 a.m, services, urging the claims of that institution on public support ou account of the good it did, uot only to the individuals entrusted to its care, but to the community In the evening there was a very large congregation, and many persons were unable to gain admittance to the church. The Eight Rev the Bishop preached, and aftet the procession a picture of the face of Christ, a copy of that associated with the history of Saint Veronica, was unveiled. Mr Farquhar Toung, of Dunedin sang Gounod's "Nazareth" in admirable and artistic style. The collections during the day realised a substantial sum, but as owing to the unfavourable weather the morning congregations, though numerous, were not as large as could have been desired, donations in aid of the Mount Magdala Asylum will be received during this week by the Very Eey Father Cummings at the Presbytery.
