V The wind, was very boisterous alniosl up to the tinie of starting, but it diec down,, and perfect . conditions prevailec during the match. The play on bott sides was very good. Mr Harmon.played a dashing game from start to finish, and won the first three sets, 6-2, 6-3 and 6-2 At the close of the match the President oi the club, Dr'Nedwill, presented the chain, pion cup to the winner, to be held by Inn for the year. Mr Harman, in acknowledging the presentation, modestly apologiset for having again won the trophy, and ex pressed. a hope that some other playei would win it next year. The present ii the twelfth season in which the cup hai been played for, and Mr Harman's nann is already engraved upon it for 1888,1890 1893 and 1895. On Saturday afternooi tea was provided by the President. On Saturday afternoon a number o: members of the Canterbury College Lawr Tennis Club went to New Brighton ant played the representative, of the loca club.
