The defendants were a farmer named Alfred Tapper and his servant, John Fraser, who worked three horses suffering- f rom\sore shoulders. The defendant said he had, suffered by floods, and had to rush through the work ; aIBO, that in a few days the horses would be turned *out for a six niontjhs' spell. .
