RAILWAY CLASSIFICATION BILL.

A meeting of railway employes was held at the Druids' Hall, Sydenham, yesterday morning, for the purpose of considering the Railway Classification Bill now before Parliament. There was a good attendance. The Bill was read, and, after some discussion, it was decided to adjourn to the meeting in the afternoon at the hall of the Sydenham Working Men's Club, convened by the Amalgamated Society of Eailway Servants. At the latter meeting the members of the executive of the Society, and of the deputation which recently went to Wellington in regard to the matter, were .present, and there was a large attendance of both officers and men. Mr W. J. Edwards, a member of the deputation, explained the Bill, was fully discussed ; and it was .decided that the employes desired that it should be passed this session subject to certain alterations in the schedules. A Committee was appointed to meet this evening and place •before the Executive suggestions as to the alterations required in the schedule, which are to be forwarded to the Minister of Eailways.
