EXTRAORDINARY OUTRAGE.
A MAN'S EARS CUT OFF. [Per Press Aksoci \tion.l PAHIATUA, Sept. 11. A man named O'Gorman was drinking at Pahiatua on Wednesday afternoon, and was returning home to Mangatainoko, two miles distant, when he was waylaid and the greater part of his ears was lopped off. He found his way to a house, and was discovered there by his mate yesterday morning, covered with blood and helpless. Kenny, a man arrested on suspicion, was brought up at the Court this morning, and was defended by Mr Toss will. The police applied for a remand for eight days, an.l objected strongly to bail being allowed. The Bench granted the remand, but allowed bail.
