AKAROA.
The annual election for seats on the Akaroa Borough Council aroused great interest. There were six nominated for three seats. Eesult— Orbell 50, M'Gregor 45, Taylor 38, Vangioni 30, Chappell 24, Watkins 14. Messrs Orbell, M'Gregor and Taylor were elected.
