The Victorian Labour Party's platform has a plank in favour of the election of Ministers of Parliament.
A correspondent of the Southland Daily News says that there is a strong probability of the Rev T. Neave, Presbyterian minister at Riverton, contesting the Wallace electorate in the Ministerial interest.
It is said that Mr John Ross (Sargood and Sons) is to be a candidate for Wellington City in the Government interest. The other Ministerial candidates will probably be Messrs Luke and Fraser.
Mr J. E. Taylor, of Water Lee, Mangere, announces his candidature for Manukau electorate in opposition to Sir G. M. O'Rorfee. He declares himself as an Independent Liberal, and states that he is opposed to further borrowing for any purpose whatever.
Regarding the three Dunedin City seats it is reported that the National Association has agreed to support Messrs Scobie Mackenzie and Fish at the general election, and that Mr A. C. Begg has an outside chance of being included in the ticket. Mr W. A.. W. Wathen and"Davie" Nichol are already " out " for Dunedin.
