MANDEVILLE AND RANGIORA.

This Board met on Friday last ; present —Mr Geo. Wallace (chairman), Kelcher, Moody, Liixton and Stalker. Mr G. Wallace was re-elected chairman, and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded him for past services. The Clerk stated that he had made arrangements with the Natives, through Mr Charles- Flutey, to get all the gravel ■ required for the Eevell's Eoad contract; also for repairing the roads within the Native Reserve. It was decided, to offer Messrs Buckley and Coates the contract for shingling. Eevell's Eoad at their original tender of Is lOd per yard, they to' pay for the gravel obtained from the pah. It was decided that two acres would be sufficient for a gravel pit, and that Mr Kennedy should be off ered £15 per acre for two acres of his land. It was decided to again write to the Minister of Eailways, demanding to know by whose authority the gates were removed from the north line opposite Section 195-0. A letter was received from Messrs Deacon and' Bishop requesting the Board to clean out a drain on the roadside opposite Mr C. J. Luxton's property. The letter was received. The Clerk was instructed to invite tenders for shingling the road from the Native cemetery. It was decided to sue for outstanding rates with 10 per cent added after Tuesday, May It). The receipts for the month were reported to be .£BS 7s Bd, and the bank credit balance .£696 3s lid. Accounts amounting to ,£96 2s 5d were passed for payment.
