- ♦ The Dunedin Star reports : — The latest addition to the roll of Lodges holding under the Grand Lodge of New Zealand,' viz., Lodge Maori, No. 105, was opened at Jackman's Hall, Eavensbourne, on Tuesday evening. There were nearly a hundred brethren present, fully one-fourth being P.M.'s. The elaborate ceremonies of consecration and dedication were capably earned out by E.W.G.S. Bro J. Kirby, acting D.G.M. ; assisted by E.W.P.D.G.M. Bro A. Burton, acting G. chaplain ; W. Bro C. J. Eonaldson, acting G.S.W. ; W. Bro J. Fieldwick, acting G.J W. ; W. Bro Alberti, acting G.S.D. ; W. Bro White, acting G.J.D.; W. Bro Lippert, acting G. 5.8.; and several other Grand Lodge officers. W. Bro H. "Wetherilt was an efficient director of ceremonies. After the Lodge had been formally opened, E.W. Bro Kirby installed Bro Thomas Eoss as the first W.M. of Lodge Maori, and the officers were duly invested. One of the principal speeches of the evening was made by the Grand Master designate, Bro W. Barron, who is to be installed in Dunedin at the end of next month.
