Won by a wheel. Time— 2min 38$aec. Victoria Mile— Payne 30yds, I ; Pither 40yds, 2; Megson 40yds, 3. Won easily. Five heats of the Austral Wheel Bace were decided and the j race will be completed on Saturday next. \ Parsons put up a record for the Australian j half-mile, covering the distance in 57«5e0. ! The Twenty-five-onle Team Race be- ■ tween the Invercargill Cycling Club and ; the Otago Cycling Club took plaoe on j Saturday, and proved most unsatis- ! factory; There were bix in each team, and [ the one scoring the least number of points ', was to win. The result was declared to ■ be :— Otago Club, 26 points, 1 ; Inveroar- i gill Club, 29 pointß, 2. When twenty-four j and a half miles had been covered the ) men, who had been riding in a bunch j nearly all came down. The hind wheel of j one had been touched just at the corner. ! The man and machine fell, another falling j on him. To avoid these two others went f flying over a bank, and most of the men i came down. No one was seriously hurt, i and the men picked themselves up aa best ! they could. M'Pherson (Invercargill) ran .< round the track with his. bicycle on his j back. until he got another machine. The I race was awarded to Otago, but it would ' have been better if it had been declared no race. M'Pherßon easily . eecured the trophy for the rider who was moßt often first at the end of each mile. The Twomile Open Baee was won by W. A. Masters (150 yds), Home (80yds) 2. The 440 yds Banning Handicap was won by T. Collier (34yds), W. F. Bennett (26yds) 2. Time — 52aeo. The Five- mile Novice Bicycle Bace was won by C. Moore (120 yds), Uesber (80yds) 2, S. Minn (cor) 8.
