The local shareholders of the United Alpine Gold-mining Company held a special meeting convened to consider an offer by a Cbriatchurch syndicate to purchase the mine for £32,000, subject to flotation in Europe, and resolved not to entertain the offer on the terms indicated. It was also resolved to protest against authority being given the Directors to dispose of the property upon such termß aB they may deem advisable. The meeting also considered that any offer made should first be submitted to all shareholders.
