MEETING OF DELEGATES.
A meeting of delegates from the Canterbury. Swimming Club's was held at the Clarendon Hotel yesterday evening; present—Messrs G. Smart (local consul, iv the chair), J. M. Watson (Christchurch), F. W. Johnston (East Christchurch), G. Milne (Eichmond), A.r Francis (Ashburton), C. Kent (Sydenham), E. 0. Duncan (Lancaster Park) and E. M. Carr (Bailway). The Chairman said he had called the meeting to consider what action should be taken in regard to New Zealand being represented at the Australasian Amateur Swimming Championship Meeting to ba held in Sydney in January next. After some discussion, Mr Johnston moved, Mr Francis seconded, and it waa carried—" Thai a Canterbury representative polo team be sent to Sydney to compete in the Australasian Polo' Championship." It was decided to ask eaoh club to Bend in a list of the men who would ba able to go to Sydney in the evont of their being selected, and to state what proportion they would be able to pay towards their expenses. Subscription lists were ordered to be distributed amongst the various clubß in 'order to defray the expenses of the team. The Quarter-mile Provincial Championship of Canterbury was left in the hands of the Eichmond Club to carry out before Dec. 21.
