covered a diseasi
known as " water rot,"
which has carried off thousands of sheep in the Western District. It has aB its immediate host one of the commonest of freshwater snails. All the phases of development of the parasite are being observed. A similar discovery was recently made in New South Wales, but tho host there is a different species of snail. SCENE IN A COUPwT. In the District Court Mr Lormer made further reference to his charges regarding the administration of justice, and complained that the matter was allowed to drag, thus interfering with justice. One of his principal witj nesaas, he alleged, had previous to the [ charges been assisted to leave tho colony. ! Mr Nicholson, the presiding magistrate, j unsuccessfully tried to stop Mr Lormer, j and then adjourned the Court. Mr Lormer eaid that he would refer to the matter again.
