«. [Per Press Association]. ' WELLINGTON, Nov. 30. Sir P. Buckley, having accepted the -Judgeship, has retired from the legal firm with whioh he has so long been associated, and the partnership has boen dissolved. Instead of the firm being Buckleyi. Stafford and Treadwell, it will now be Stafford, Treadwell and Field. The Hon E. Blake intends to try and get the arbitration finished by Christmas. The Company's witnesses are expected to take ten days, and the Crown's a fortnight. INVEECABGILL, Nov. 30. ' At the Police Court a large farmer was charged under the new Act with having been found on licensed premises, being a prohibited person. The defence was that he went' to the hotel for luggage. The police stated* that he had been in a drunken state in the town for several days. The magistrate imposed a fine of 5s and costs.
