TWO YEAR S' HARD LABO UR.
[Per Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Nov. 29. Eobert Darrah, a settler at Hikutia, was convicted of manslaughter, having set a loaded gun for a burglar with fatal results, and sentenced at the Supreme Court criminal session to two years' hard labour. Judge Conolly said, he looked on the crime as very nearly approaching murder, and he hoped that tho sentence would be a warning to others not to.setiraps to take away human life or injure people.
