Drunkennjbbb. — John Thompson waß fined 10s and costs, in default forty-eight hours' imprisonment,— A man who fy&d not before been convicted, was fined 5a and costs, in default twenty-four houra* imr prisonment. Unlawfully on Premises. — George Wright pleaded guilty to a charge p) having been found by night without lawful excuse on the premises of Thomas Lamb, in Cashel Street. Accused was cautioned and discharged!.
An Unlawful Game.— Riohard Robinson, a young man, was charged with playing an unlawful game of chance, to wit under and over, at the Addington Show Grounds on Friday. Acouaed, for whom Mr Donnelly appeared, pleaded not guilty. Detective Maddern deposed that about 5 p.m. on the previous day he saw the accused on the Show Grounds. He had a table and box and dice, and waa playing a game called under and over. When witness went up to accused he threw the box and dice on the ground and' another man took the table away. For tha defence it was contended that the accused was under the influence of liquor when lie was playing the game. Accused had <* wife and children and was in poor circumstances. His Worship said drunkenness was no excuse for the offenoe< Acoused was liable to a fine of- .£SO. He would be fined 40s, and would be allowed a week in which to find the money.
Damaging Pbopbbtt.— A young fellow pleaded guilty to a charge of having on Nov. 8 broken a pane of glass, value 10b, in the shop of Robert Painter, in Kilmore Street. Accused said he waa drunk when he threw the Btone through the window. He was fined '10a, and ordered to pay for the damage done.
