At the Magistrate* Court to-day two email boys pleaded guilty to breaking and entering the Co-operative stores at Denniston, with intent to steal, and were sentenced, respectively to six and three strokes of a birch rod. A third boy,. the ringleader, who is over sixteen, is in custody, and will be charged to-morrow. The boyß stole a quantity of miscellaneous articles from the store mentioned, and camped in the bush, where, after a difficult journey, they were captured by the police. Mr G. Morgan, late postmaster at Inangahua Junction, was charged this morning with embezzling a post letter containing £22. He was remanded till Sept. 12. Bail was allowed, accused in £100 and two sureties of JBSO each. The facts are that a registered letter, containing the sum named in notes, is missing. It was posted at tbe Junction on August 1, addressed to the Colonial Bank, Beefton. Inquiry by the, Chief Postmaster and the police revealed that the' letter had never left tbe Junction, and was not found on the waybills. Acoused keeps a wayside public-houße. He alleges that the letter was placed between bottles in the bar and must have been Btolen. Two other charges
