[Special to Pbbss Association. j SYDNEY, August 29. The Herald saya the Bank of New Zealand is not yet oat of its troubles, whioh are apparently of deeper origin than was supposed. Doubtless they have been inteneified fay the low prioe of produce. Probably had the extent of the losses been known a year or two back the Government wonld not have given a guarantee ; bnt saving done so, it seems necessary to follow it np on the lines recommended by -the committee. The severance of the Estates Company will free the bank from the dead assets whioh have so long kept it down, and the fresh capital will famish xeeonrces for basiness of a sounder nature. It is hard on the shareholders to have to again provide more capital, bnt they will probably regard it as the leßaer of two evil*.
