In answer to Mr Gray, the Chairman said Mr Loughrey's account for attending on behalf of the Board at the hospital inquiry amounted to £107 9fl 6d. The Chairman said Mr Loughrey had been employed by the Board. Mr Gray objected to some of the items in Mr Lougbrey's acoount. It was resolved — "That the account be held over till the special meeting, and that the Houße Committee confer with Mr Loughrey in reference to some of the items." Mr Gray drew the Board's attention to | the case of a girl who came into the hospital laat month, suffering with a needle in her foot. The girl had left the hospital before the needle had been taken out of her foot, and the operation had since been performed by a medical man outside the hospital, His attention had also bean called to the case of an old man who was admitted into the hospital suffering frcm a eerioua internal complaint, and left the institution without getting any satisfaction. After the man left the hospital art operation was performed by another medical man. He would like to know if there was any truth in these statements. Mr Parish thought the House Committee should inquire into the matter and report to the Board. It was reaolved that the House Surgeon should be called in and give an explanation of the cases. Dr Murray- Aynsley said that when the girl was admitted she said she had a needle in her foot. He had a consultation with Dm Murdoch, Deamer and Campbell, and after examining the girl's foot they decided to make an incision. The girl refused to allow the incision to be made, and left the hospital. The man was admitted in February last, and was one of Dr Meares' caaes. He left the hospital before being sounded. Mr Gray .seconded the motion, which was carried; Mr Murray moved—" That the House Surgeon in future be asked to report to the Board any laxity on the part of tbe members of the Honorary Staff."
