WELLINGTON MEAT EXPORT COMPANY.

At the annual meeting of- the Wellingon Meat Export Company yesterday, Mr Booth (chairman) eaid that, though the year had been one of considerable difficulties, they were able to show a profit of over £6000. He attributed the inferior quality of Wellington mutton as compared with that from Canterbury to careleaß handling after it left the works. He moved the adoption of the report, which propose 3 to pay a dividend of 6 per cent. Mr C. Pharazyn, who has just returned from London, speaking of his observations at Home, emphasized the necessity of sending away only sheep of the best quality. The cheep grown in Wellington were much inferior to those from Canterbury. Mutton of much better quality was now being S laced on the English market than used to c sent there, and Wellington farmerß must keep pace with the times. The report was adopted. Messrs W. G. Foster and J. W. Marshall were re-elected directors.
