CHRISTCHURCH. Tuesday, August 27. (Before Mr J. C. Wilkin. J.P., and Mr T. Williams, J.P.) Drunkenness. — John Williamson was fined . ss, with ls cab-hire, in default twenty-four houra' imprisonment. (Before Mr H» W. Bishop, S.M.) Civil Caseb.— Judgment by default, with costs, was given for plaintiffs in the following oases:— F. W. Rutland v. R. Loyd, claim £2 4s, costs 10s, Mr Byrne for plaintiff ; T. H. Green aud Co. v. T. B. Proctor, £105, costß £6 12s 6d, Mr Fuller for plaintiff; Duncan and Cotterill v. C. J. Bussell, costs 10s, Mr Hall for plaintiff. ; —A. Purvis v. J. E. Hanson, claim £35 2s ; Mr Kippenberger for plaintiff, Mr Beswick for defendant. The claim was for wages ' alleged to have been wrongfully deducted by the defendant for the rent of a oottage. Judgment was given for the plaintiff for the amount claimed, and costs £A 4s.— A. F. J. Mickle v. J. M'Kenzie, claim £28 18s, judgment summons; Mr CresßWell for the creditor, Mr M'Connel for the debtor. An order was applied for on the ground of fraud. . After hearing the evidence hia Worship refused to grant the order.— The case of Barr and Barr v. Elizabeth Lea, olaim £10 16a 9d, was adjourned till Sept. 10.
