HEATHCOTE.

The monthly meeting of this Board was held on June 6 ; present— Meßsrs Mitchell, Mace, Malcolm, Martin and Dale. A letter was received from M'Haffie (chairman) stating that he was unable to be present, owing to a death in his family. Mr Mitchell was voted to the chair, when a vote of sympathy with Mr M'Haffie in his bereavement was carried unanimously. The question of regrading Woodham Boad was held over till the next meeting. A resolution was passed approving of the Local Bodies Loan Conversion Bill. A petition was received from six ratepayers in the Bromley Ward, asking that the drain and floodgate at the tram bridg New Brighton, should be attended soon aB convenient. It was resolved 4 o the work in hand as soon as the state of the tide allowed. It was resolved to arrange for the ereotion of three new lamps in SI Martin's, three in the Valley and one Opawa. The Gas Company wrote, offering to light four lamps in Opawa Ward at £5 per lamp.
