MELBOUENE, Junb 13.
In the Legislative Assembly, ■ the Premier, in announcing the intention of the Government to drop the Civil Servants' -Retirement Bill said it meant a loss in the proposed savings of J815,000. If pensions were granted to retiring teachers thousands of those who had been retired would claim pensions, and all those retired in future had a right to demand them. At- the «ad of the year s quarter of a million of bonda would have to be redeemed,. and the Government was therefore compelled to save money even at the risk of adopting mean expedients. ; ;,
