The total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for the United Kingdom ia 3,830,000 quarters, and for the Continent 1,730,000 quarters. The American visible Bupply of wheat is 60,200,000 bushels.

The meat market is improving, and prices tire firm, with a good demand. New Zealand frozen mutton 3£d to 3sd per Ib. The Woolloomooloo's Adelaide pork realised 395,

Foochow reports efate that the Sinin will leave for Melbourne on June 20 and the Chatterthun for Sydney on June 22 with about two million pounds of tea each. The crop ia reported to be five per cent less than last year. Pair and good common teas are in short supply. The market is very strong, and ia likely to continue bo.

Dr Shiels, inventor of the thermostat, and Mr William Borthwick, meat salesman, who inspected the Gothic's chilled meat, report that it has arrived in excellent condition, and they are perfeotly satisfied with the shipment. The meat shows no signs of mould. The first portion of the shipment will be sold at Smithfield on Thursday.

The Age, referring to the easier feeling in the wheat market, says it is only local, consequenton millers having Bnpplied their present requirements, and that during the next few months periods of activity and dulness Twill be experienced from a similar cause, but prices will really be governed by outside demand. Judging by English and foreign harvest reports, the Age considers that there is no likelihood of an appreciable decline, and that it is more likely, if anything interferes with outside supplies, that there will be a sharp upward tendency. . • •■■ :
