Lord Brassey is to preside at the Congress of Institutions of Naval Architects to be held in Paris.

PARIS, June 12.

Speaking at the Naval Architects' Congress, Lord Brassey said that -Great Britain was greatly indebted to French inventors for initiating ironclads in 1855, and demonstrating the advantages of steel over iron for the construction of armour plates. He also mentioned kindly personal memories of his residence in France as a youth when hiß father was building the pioneer railways. He said he regarded united administration of the Suez Canal as engineering a friendly solution of the political problems in Egypt.
