Theatre Royal— On Monday evening next the Gwen Daviea* musical, sketch and concert party will open for a short season in the Theatre Eoyal. The company have jusb completed a successful season in Dunedin, and are now playing in Oatnaiu. Ofeba House. — There was a moderate attendance at the Opera House last evening, when the Alhambra Gaiety Company repeated the programme of the previous, evening. The performance evidently met with the approval of the audience, who especially applauded the wonderful feats of Messrs KiDgsley and Kerr on the bicycle, and the trapeze act of Messrs Luella and Driscoll. The company will appear again this evening. The Chinese empire 1b divided into eighteen grand provinces, representing an average area each of 248,000 square miles. The German empire contains 211,000 square miles, the French republic 240,000 and the British Isles 121,000.
