Cheistchxtrch Magistbate's Court.-— All the civil cases set down for hearing at the Cbristchurch Magistrate's Court today were settled out of Court.

Weather Note. — The barofneter was falling this morning, and locally a change of wind by north-west to Bouth-west was indicated, with rain probable.

Inquest.— -An inquest was held at the Courthouse, Kaiapoi, this morning, before Mr Bishop, Coroner, and a jury, on the body of Catherine Buff. A verdict of " Death from Natural Causes " waa returned.

Another Burglary. — On Friday morning last, Mr Crump's shop in St Asaph Street, Linwood, was visited by burglars, who opened one of the windows and stole about twenty small tins of jam and some fruit.

Ellesmere Domain Board. — The following persDßS are gazetted members of the Ellesmere Domain Board: — Messrs John M'Kellar, W. Bishop, F. Jameson, Lewis Mathias, and Arthur Chamberlain. The first meeting of the Board is to be held on Monday, July 1, and the date of the annual meeting is fixed for the first Monday in January.

Holt Teinitt, Avonside. — Yesterday was the thirty-ninth anniversary of the dedication of this church. The festival began with matins and Holy Communion at 7.45 a.m. At 11 a.m. there was a choral celebration with sermon, the service being Simpsr in F. At evensong the service need at the last Diocesan Choral Festival, including the anthem, " Praise the Lord," Elvey, was sung. The Vicar preached at both Ber vices, which were attended by large congregations. The Bpecial offertoty, for clearing off the floating liabilities of the parish, amounted to more than .£SO.

Masonic Conckbt.— A largely-attended meeting ia connection with the projected Masonic concert ' was held in the St Augustine Hall on Saturday evening, when it waa decided to engage the Tuam Street Hall for Tuesday, July 9. Eaports from various sub-committeea were considered, and the details submitted by the Programme Committee showed that an entertainment of a high clasß was assured.

The Opera Hotrsa.— There was only a moderate attendance at the Opera House on Saturday night, when a change of pro- ; gramme was given by the Albambra Gaiety Company. The audience, however, ■ waa very enthusiastic. The various items ! were much appreciated, the dancing of Miss Violet Neilson and the bicycle feats , of Messrs Kerr and Kingaley being especi- i ! ally good. The Company will appear again this evening. j St Albans Wbsibtan Chubch.— Two very beautiful tablets have been presented to the new Wesleyaa Church, St Albans. ' They are the woik of and presented by Mr T. Gapes, ex-Mayor of Christchurch, and the inscriptions are the Lord's Prayer and ( the Apoetleß' Creed respectively. The j illumination is of a very high order of the art, and after yesterday's services the tablets were greatly admired, and the donor's kindness acknowledged by the members of the congregation. Mobbis-tubb Shooting. —On Friday evening the members of the Christchuroh Working Men's Club Rifle Class fired off another stage of the Friday evening competition at the 200 yds range. The following were the highest scorers :— A. Cowan (1) 35, E. C. Wells (scr) 33, W. A. Caldwell (1) 33, G. Allen (1) 33, D. Markland (2) 33, J. A. Lummis (3) 33, W. Garrarct (1) 32, D.
