The PjsEjriEß.~On Saturday morning the Hon R- J. Seddon had nn interview in the Provincial Council Chamber with the representatives of the local bodies, in referenco to tho unemployed question. In the afternoon he. had private interviews with representatives of the Canterbury Liberal Association and the Ballanoa Liberal Association, and alao saw a deputation in reference to amending the law relative to contagious diseases. He left for Wellington by the s.s. Penguin in the evening. Pigeon Flying. — The Christchurch Pigeon Plying Club flew off a race from Wasbdyke on Saturday in connection with the Sydenham Poultry Society's show. Twenty-one birds, divided amongst sixteen owners, were liberated, the winner being Mr A. Smith's Dartmoor, with, a velocity of 1000*2yd8 per minute. The club desires to thank tho station-master for liberating the birds.
