LINWOOD v. NORTH CANTERBURY.

At the commencement of the game the Linwood forwards played up with great dash, and Darton and Kerr heading a fine dribbling rush, the latter player quickly scored. Ward scored soon afterwards from a lineoW;, and, some passing between Gordon and Hobbs enabled O'Brien to pot a clever goal. ' The same player ended a dodgy run by scoring behind the posts a few minutes later, Hobba easily converting. Some clever work by the Linwood backs took play to the other end, and Gordon scored, but the easy kicked was misßed by Stringer, and when Mr Soper sounded his whistle for " no side" play was at the centre, A. Wilmot and Da Moulin having been prominent in some good foot work in clearing their lines.
