NEW YORK. Mat 30. The boilers of the steamer Corunna burst at night, and only one, boat load of those on board was saved. • MADKID, Mat 30. The bows of the steamer Dom Pedro opened immediately she struck the rock. A panic resulted, and the officers being unable to control the passengers,, the boats were rushed. The vessel sank in a few minutes. The Spanish gunboat Tago has been wrecked at San Sebastian. LPbb Pbess Association.! REEFTON, May 30. Robert Atkinson, who was brought from Lyell to Reef ton Hospital on Monday, died on Tuesday night. Hia funeral was announced for to-day, but was postponed, complications having arisen which necessitate an inquiry. A post-mortem exatoination showed congestion of the lungs, and that the liver and heart were diseased enough, to account for death, but it was also found that the skull was fractured. The cause is unknown. Inquiries are on foot, and an inquest will be held tomorrow. DUNEDIN, Mat 31. John Ramsay, aped seventy-four, residing at Kaikorai Valley, dropped dead last night. The supposed cause of death is apoplexy. ■
