AKAROA.

The ordinary fortnightly meeting of the Akaroa Borough Council was held on Wednesday evening; present— The Mayor and Councillors Henning, Chappell, Watkins, Yangioni and Perm. The Marine Department wrote, agreeing to vest the Akaroa wharves with the Council for another fourteen years. The Colonial Secretary wrote, stating that the sum of JBI4 6s Id had been authorised for payment, being half the difference between the cost of the licensing elections of 1891 and 1894.
