The horse sales on Saturday were well attended, but buyers were exceedingly scarce and salesmen had a most unsatisfactory time, lot after lot befttg passed without evoking a bid. At this time of the year when feed is scarce everybody who has surplus stock is anxious to get xid of it, and nobody who can do without a hone will purchase one.. The- entry at Tattersail's comprised about eighty horses. There was an entire absence of good draughts, which alosa are in demand, and the majority of the lighter Borts were either second-rate animals or dealers' lots, and' not a quarter of the entry changedhands. Inferior sorts of heavy draughts brought- up to MM, lighter sorts from £fr to £9 10s, light harness horses from <£&,to £10 6s, good hacks from £7 to £9 and aged and weedy, sorts from £1 10 a to £5.
