Rifle Class.

The annual meeting of the Christchurch Working Men's Club Eifle Class was held on Saturday evening, Mr W. Garrard in the chair. The balance-sheet was read, showing a small balance in hand. The captain presented the prizes won during the season, which had been given by the following gentlemen: — Messrs Manning and Co., J. Gould, W. H. Wynn* Williams, E. Recce and Sons', 1 Mason, Struthers and Co., Ashby, Bargh and Co., C. Frost, J. Preece, J. F. Stratz, C. Smith, R. Kent, G. Bonnington, W. W. Collins, Lees and Evans, S. B. Vernazoni, Burrell Bros, H. Thomas and the Crown Brewery Company. The following are the principal prize-winners :— Mr J. Hastie, champion gold medal for thirty highest scores during ihi year; Mr W. A. Caldwell, silver medal for thirty highest scores, including handicaos ; Messrs H. C. Wells, J. Hastie, W. A. Caldwell, W. Garrard, W. Munford, J. Glanville, H. Spicer, W. B. Scott, J. Russell, J. Rodmell, O. W. Turpin, H. Thomas, D. Ashton, E. Dalton, G. Allen and J. F. Stratz. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: —Captain and treasurer, Mr W. Garrard ; sub-captain, Mr W. A. Caldwell; secretary, Mr J. Hastie ; bandicappers, Messrs R.C.Weil?, W. Sherwood and J. Hastie; committee, Messrs W. Sherwood, W. Munford, G. Allen, A. Cowan, J. Rodmell and J. A. Lummis. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded' the donors of prizes, also to 2fr J. Gent and the retiring officers.
