A LOAN RTJMOUK.
The Morning Advertiser poblishea a report that Victoria proposes to shortly issue a large loan, and the paper says that unless it is for redemption purposes its success is doubtful. The Agent-General for Victoria denies the report.
PEOHIBITION IN CANADA.
OTTAWA, April 26.
After three years' enquiry, the commission appointed by the Canadian Q-overnment reports that prohibition would injure business, extinguish a large source of municipal revenue, and involve compensation. The commission suggests that high license fees should be charged, in order to keep the liquor traffic down.
