Tuesday, Maech 19. (Before Mr Q. Lauranson, J.P., and Mr J. . T.Brice, J.P.) Drunkenness. — A first offender w&B< fined ss, or, in default, the usual alternative. Indecency.— lvan Predolf Rydberg vaa charged with wilful indecency in a public place. The offence was fully proved by Constable Heather and W. Beecroft, engineer in the employ of the Lyttelton Harbour Board. Captain J. W. Clark 1 ,. i harbour-master, deposed that he had 1 Beveral timers been complained to by ladies. During the past three weeks accused had many times been guilty of a eimiliar? offence. The Bench said accused wasliable to twelve months' imprisonment and to be flogged besides : the sentence of the Court was that he should go to gaol for Beven months with hard labour. Alleged Stabbing. — Alexander Selion was charged with having stabbed Peter Mongue with a pocket-knife. Mr Joyce applied for a remand until the following day, which was granted.
