A special meeting of junior players of the Lancaster Park Cricket Club was held ■at the City Hotel last evening, to consider the advisableness of engaging a coach for junior cricket. About twenty members were present, and Mr E. H. Pavitt was voted to the ohair. After discussion, it was resolved— " That, in the opinion of this meeting, it is advisable to engage the services of a capable coach, and that a sub-committee, consisting of Messrs E. H. Pavitt and W. A. Cooke, be empowered to engage a suitable man up to the end of March." Tha sub-eommittoe was requested tc wait on the General Committee with a view to improving junior cricket in the club. A subscription list towards defraying the expenses of engaging a coach waa opened in the room. A good sum, was promised.
