Auckland.
[Per Pbess Association.] AIJCKLIND, March 21. The City of Auckland licensing polling resulted in a total of 2068 votes out of 15,121 being recorded. As 7500 were required, to make a poll, the proceedings are void. No caba were employed, and there was no excitement. Numbers refrained from voting as they considered the Act unworkable. The delegates to the Women's Christian Temperance Union distributed leaflets at the polling-booths. There were 238 informal votes at the Drillshed and St George's Hall. The number of informal votes at the three other polling places in the city is not yet known. So far as could be ascertained to-day the polling in Auckland wa? largely in favour of the continuance of the present number of licenses of hotels, also of accommodation licenses and bottle licenses. The poll is void.
