THE POLLING.
Christcliurcli. The polls closed at seven o'clock, and for several hours afterwards considerable numbers of people waited in the streets, principally around the newspaper offices, in hopes of learning the result. They were, however, disappointed, for the returns were not available until four o'clock this morning. The local option poll resulted as follows :— That licenses remain a? at present.,. 2841 That licenses be reduced 1632 That no licenses be issued 3666 ■ Ab the votes caßt for prohibition will be added to those for reduction, the latter vote is carried. i The following was the voting at the various polling places :— _____
