Oddfellowbhip.— The annual meeting of the Ashburton district was held in the Oddfellows' Hall on Wednesday. Prov. G.M. J. Tucker presided. Delegates from the Ashburton, Bakaia, Waterton and Tinwald Lodges attended. The Prov. G.M, delivered an interesting address. He congratulated the district on its steady progress, and wished his successors a prosporous term of office. It was resolved thafe candidates from sixteen yearß of age should be initiated into the Order and! receive the general benefit of the members. The following officers were elected tor the ensuing year :— Prov. G.M., Bro Thomas Williams; Deputy Prov. G.M.. Bro James Keir ; Treasurer, P.P.G.M. Bra C. Reid ; Auditor, P.G. Bro J. Road. It was resolved that P.P.G.M. Bro J. Tucker should receive the P.P.G.M.'a degree, and that his name be placed on the merit board. A P.G.s meeting was held at halfpasb six o'clock, when members holding certificates received their respective degrees.
