Time — 23min. i [The match between these men was ' arranged in December last, the New Zealand champion, Tom Sullivan, who had . shortly before defeated Bubear, being instrumental in bringing the men together. Sullivan had Harding as_ a j trainer while preparing for his match with Bubear ; and in an interview with the , correspondent of this journal spoke in the very highest manner of the qualities of the little man, and concurred with those who regarded him as a champion at his weight. The winner is known as " Wag " , Harding, and is looked upon by many ex- I cellent judges as little shoit of a pheno- . menon. He is twenty-seven years of age, stands sft 4Jin, and weighs Bst 131 b, and it is a great performance to meet and defeat a man of Bubear's high standing on even terms.
