BOYS' HIGH SCHOOL.
Annual Sports. THIS DAY. The scholars attending the Boys' High. School held their animal sports at Lsncaster Park to-day. The weather was fino, but the cinder and grasß tracks were very soft. The following are results up to the time oE going to press :— lOOydB Flat, open to whole school (Mrs Bevan Brown's prize)— First heat : E. C. Cuff 1, W. Shirriffs 2. D. Stewart and J. Lee also started. Won by a yard. Time — llsec. Second heat : F. De La Mare 1, C. Klinginstein 2. W. Campbell, A. H. Joseph, E. Hay, and M. P. Knight also started. Won by two yards. Time— msec. Third heat : E. Nixon 1, A. J. Inwood 2. These were the only starters. Won by # a yard. Time— llfaec. Final heat: E. C. Cuff 1, W. Shirriffs 2, F. Da La Mare 3. B. Nixon and A. J- Inwood also started. Won by two yards. Time ' ll£aec. 100 yds Flat, open to boys under fourteen.—First heat: C. M'Kellar 1, B. Mitchell 2. Time— 13sec. Second heatt A. Sandstein 1, H. S ewart 2. Time— 12|3ec. Final heat : A. Sandstein 1, BT. Stewart 2. Time — 12|sec. ' .. ■ Long Jump, open to whole school— E. Nixon, 17ft 4in, 1 ; E. C. Caff, 17ft 2in, 2. W. E. Budd and H. Garaia also competed. Long Jump, open to boys under foujrteen—A. Cannon, 14ft Sin, 1 ; W. J. Byrne, 13ft 3*in, 2. H. Stewart also competed. Throwing the Cricket Ball, open to • whole school— H. Garaia, 84yda Of t lOin, 1 j E. Nixon, 74yds Oft 4in, 2. W. E. Lyttelton, C. H. Manson, C. Meredith, J. Eennie, and W. Shirriffs also competed. 75yds Flat, open to whole sohool, Dc : Stewart's prize — First heat : W. Shirriffa . lj C. Meredith 2. J. Eennie and D. M. Stewart also started. Won by two yards. | Time— Bfsec. Seoond heat : E. C. Caff 1, W. J. C. Wilson 2. J. Lee and H. van Ascli 1 also started. Won cleverly by' two feet. ; Time-B*sec. Third heat: F. De la Mare 1, L. M. T. Williams 2. A. H. Joseph, <?♦ Klingenstein and E. Hay also started. ■ Won by a foot. Time — 9 fcseo. Final heat t W. J. C. Wilson 1, E. C. Cuff 2, W. Shirriffs 3. F. De la Mare and L. M. T. Williams also started. A very good race. . Cuff got away badly, and was beaten a foofc by Wilson, Shirriffs, a few inches away, third. Time— B£sec. 200 yds Handicap, open to' boys under fourteen— C. Garsia, 12yds, 1; H. Stewart, ecr, 2; C. P. Harper, 6yds, 3. About fifteen, started. Stewart came very fast in thelast fifty yards, but could aot catch Garsia, i who won by two feet. Time— 27eec. 440yd8 Flat, open to whola school— F. de La Mare, 1 j W. Shirriffs, 2; E. Nixon, 3... C. Meredith also started. Do La Mare took the lead at the start, and won by two yards from Shirriffs, who paaßed Nixon a few yards from the tape. Time-r6l'|S9.o. High Jump, open to boyß under fourteen —A. Cannon, 4ft *in, 1 ; B. Mitchell and W. J. Byrne, 4ft. equal, 2. Putting the Weight.— Mr Mob's Cup, tobe won two years in succession before v it . becomes the property of the holder : — E. Nixon, 31ft lOin, 1; C. Meredith, 30ft 4in, 2. W.E. Budd, E. Hay, A. H.Joseph, M. P. Knight, and J. Eennie also competed. Nixon won the same event last ' year with a put of 30ft 4in. The Cup nor becomes his property.
