Barge was elected Hon Secretary of the Committee, and it was reßolved to disallow the entry of t\e Papanui Club to the contests, as, in the Committee's opinion, their ground was not suitable for cricket. Matches on Oofc. 21 and Nov. 11 will be postponed, the first date being the occasion of the Amateur Athletic meeting, and Nov. 11 being Canterbury Cup Day of the Canterbury Jockey Club's Spring Meeting.

A match was played on Saturday between the Kimberley and Weedon Clubs on the ground of the latter, and resulted in a win for the home team by 45 runs. The scores were : Kimberley 50 and 34; Weedons 77 and 52. D. M'BethlO and J. Bedford 8, for Kimberley, and D. Marshall 27, J. Curragh 17, S. Thompson 14, and J. Sultan 17 and 15 for Waedons, were the highest scorers. M'Beth, M'Clelland and Stott bowled well for Kimber'.ey, as did Sultan, Thompson and Davison for Weedons. A meeting of the Committee of the North Canterbury Cricket Association was held at the Club Hotel, Rangiora, yesterday, Mr E. Blunden in the chair. Mr C. Gorton was elected a Vice-President. A protest was received from the Ashley County Club at being debarred from playing seven of the First Eleven in the second team entered for the Association -Cup j matches. After reconsidering the matter it was decided to reduce the number to six, including Mr E. Wilder. This was all the business. ' A general meeting of the Ashburton : Cricket Club was held on Monday night, j Several new members were elected, Mr , W. B. Denshire was elected captain and Mr R. M. Cuthbertson vice-captain.
