At a meeting of women for the purpose of considering the best steps to take to get the names of all women in the district on the electoral roll, a vote of thanks was passed to Sir John Hall for his successful advocacy of the reform. WOODVILLE, Oct. 2. Mr W. H. Hawkins, auctioneer, is announced as a candidate for the Waipawa WELLINGTON, Oct. 2. The Registrar at New Plymouth refused to enrol a woman because she had been away three weeks. The matter was reported to the Government, and the Attorney-General holds that the Registrar is wrong, and that if residence be established in a district for three months, that is sufficient, even though the claimant has not lived there continuously. The Hon Downie Stewart holds the same view. The difficulty is dealt with in the amending Act. '
