Six Thousand Female Voters. [Pcs Press Association. I AUCKLAND, Sept. 29. Mr Edward Withy ia out for the City on the independent ticket. WELLINGTON, Sept. 30. Mr C. F. Worth etandß for Wellington in the Liberal interest. The Hon Walter Johnston is spoken of as a candidate. Mr Cadman haa received a requiaition signed by three hundred or four hundred electors from Hawke's Bay, but has decided to stand for Waikato. Mr Bruce haa definitely resolved not to stand for Masterton or any seat. DUNEDIN, Sept. 30. Mr Charles Beeves, ex-Mayor, contests Fort Chalmers. INVEBCAEGILL, Sept. 30. Mr Bobert M'Nab, one of the eandidatea for Mataura, haß received a telegram from Sir Bobert Stout, stating definitely that he will not be a candidate for that seat. Yesterday the Begistrar of Electors ior Christchurch was Btill kept busy at his office in the Chrißtchurch Besident Magistrate's Court, and during office hours he accepted 500 ciaima from women. The women's oection of the Canterbury Liberal Association has enrolled 1000 names up to the present, having used every effort and taken advantage of every opportunity. Mr G. W. Eussell, one of the candidates for the Biccarton aeat, will address the electors at Papanui on Tuesday evening, in the Church of England schoolroom. The Mayor of Chriatchureh and several electore will be in attendance at tlie Tuam street theatre, from seven to nine this evening, for the enrolment of ladies wishing to vote at the forthcoming elections. A meeting of ladies will be held tomorrow afternoon, in St Patrick's schoolroom, at three o'clock. The Boman Catholic Biahop of Chriatchureh, Dr Grimes, will preside and «address the meeting. The Eegistrar of Electors for Christchurch, Avon ahd Biccarton accepted some 1000 claims for women for enrolment thia morning. A rough calculation gives about 6500 female voters on the register-of these diatricta to date.
