It is stated that many thousands of women and children are starving, their only food being raw potatoes. The coal owners have issued a manifesto offering to submit the dispute to arbitration. They state they only desire that I wages shall follow prices. ! [Per Fbxsb Association.! WELLINGTON, S_dpt. 30. The Eight Hours' Demonstration ComI mittee has resolved to write to all the clergymen in Wellington, asking them to dedicate a sermon once a year to the question of the hours of labour, and suggesting Sunday week as the day for the firßt sermon on the Bubject.
