PRACTICAL ECONOMY.
In order to reduce expenses a oarefnl ! couple accustomed to drinking ale at supper time, hearing that a saving of two* pence a quart might be effected by havinga barrel in, decided to do so. The first night, after drinking their usual quart, and Bitting by the fire, the old lady thoughtfully eaid: " Billy, we've saved twopence to-night." "Wehave," answered Billy, "and twopence saved is twopence earned." - "Itis." Then after afew minutes' silence, the old lady said : - ' ••'-.'-. " Billy, shall we have another quart, ahd save another twopence P "
