4> ; Canterbury Jockey Club. At the ordinary monthly meeting of the Committee of the Canterbury Jockey Club, : held on Monday, it was resolved that the 1 representation of country Clubs on the Metropolitan Conference should be on a ' similar basis to that prevailing on the
Education Board. Messrs F. Simmons, J. Blee, junr., and J. Shaw were elected gentlemen riders. The petition of various Trotting Clubs to be placed under the control of the Canterbury Jockey Club was discussed, and it waß desided to give a final answer next week. A number of licenses to trainers and jockejs were issued, but the list is not yet complete and will not b 9 ready for publication until next week. _____
